Tournaments covered this week

  1. Tick Tock Tuesdays 15 (January 2nd)

  3. NNCL Lunar XV (January 5th)

Tick Tock Tuesdays 15

Bracket Tick Tock Tuesdays 15 bracket Key moments:

  1. Evisceration (aka TOMO), in their second straight Tick Tock Tuesdays (TTT) victory, swept through their opponents, and have only lost two games in their two TTT victories (both in their 3-1 sets against Ethereal in TTT 14).
  2. Two notable new teams?
    • UnbeatableDX, in their second tournament as a team, finished fourth, sweeping both Lastation and Komodo 3-0, and toppling Eclipse 3-2!
    • ;Dachi, a team that mixes members from Neptune and the team Serial Killers from back in the day, finished second after victories against VectorQry, Ðeep βlues, Lεgαcγ, and top seed and third place finisher Saikai.

New Squid City #1

Bracket NSC 1 finals What you need to know:

  1. New Squid City, created in an attempt to emulate what the Young Ink tourney series does but on a weekly basis, started off with a bang, getting 17 teams in their first installation!
  2. After coming off their second place finish in TTT the day before, ;Dachi proved a strong opponent and won the entire tournament! They only lost three games, combining group stage and final bracket, to eventual second place finisher UPRISING_Sp (one game in groups, two games in finals).

NNCL Lunar XV

Bracket NNCL Lunar XV top 16 Highlights:

  1. Playing as Circlejerk for the first time since June, several members of Saikai (confirmed by multiple teams that played in the event), got a double loss for taking too long in winners, brushed themselves off, and swept the rest of the tourney!
  2. This was the largest NNCL event since a 27 team tourney (NNCL Astral IV) back in September 2016.
  3. Evisceration, looking for their second straight undefeated tourney win after TTT 15, came close, until Crispy Soup (EnviZion) took two games off of them in winners finals and Circlejerk defeated them 6-0, combining grand finals and bracket reset.

Squidboards Splat Series - January

SqSS January top 8

The important points:

  1. Easily the biggest Squidboards event to date, and counting the teams that registered but did not check in, this is the biggest Western Splatoon 2 event to date!
  2. After defeating them 5-1 in Leagues Under The Ink earlier in the day, Ethereal defeated Team Olive again in the rematch, 4-2, in grand finals to win this huge event!
  3. One of the MVPs of the event was Ben of Ethereal, highlighted by the following clips:

  4. And the moment when Ethereal finished off Team Olive and won grand finals!:
